Bus Drivers Told Not To Play 2Pac Music
After complaints by Parents, bus drivers are no longer allowed to play Pac & other rap artists.
Louise Piper, the school district's transportation director, cautioned her 93 bus drivers this week to screen more carefully the radio stations they play after a parent complained about questionable songs and commercials being played on her child's bus.
"It's just how women are perceived in these songs," the Palm City parent said. "I don't want my child to have to listen to these songs to go to school."
Costello sent an e-mail late last month to Superintendent Sara Wilcox and school board members, including the complete lyrics to three songs played on WMBX-FM, known as X 102.3. FM, while her child's bus was en route to school one morning: Ballow!! by Busta Rhymes, Gots Ta Be by B2K, and Thugz Mansion by Tupac Shakur.
