One of America's largest gatherings of young people is now underway in Baltimore.

The Youth Explosion Leadership Conference is made up of 13-18-year-olds from New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware..

Organizers say teens come to discuss ways to put an end to dangerous behaviors like violence and substance abuse.

This year's conference features a morning keynote address by Lt. Governor Michael Steele and the lunch keynote address by the mother of slain rapper Tupac Shakur. Tupac Shakur was killed on September 13, 1996 in Las Vegas, Nevada. As a result of his death Ms. Shakur has launched a national campaign to address issues related to community violence and crime among youth of color.

Additionally, over 30 workshops will be held for youth that range from Coping with Community Violence to Preparing for College.
