Tupac & Biggie Dying To Live Explained
With the release of 'Runnin' (Dying to Live), regular fans are having a hard time understanding how the voices of 2Pac and Biggie made it onto a single track. The truth is, Biggie's lyrics on the Eminem remix actually came from a collaboration that 2Pac and Biggie did when they were still friends. Most Pac fans know this, but the average fan has a hard time getting it.
The original collaboration was dubbed "stop the gunfight," and was released commercially two times. First, on a single called "Stop the Gunfight" and second, on the Mecca Recordings release, "In His Own Words." "In His Own Words" is an interview/biography album, in which 2Pac is interviewed by Sway (now of MTV fame). If any 2Pac fans don't have this cd, it is definitely one to own. There are a few songs by 2pac, a couple tributes, a moderated biography, and of course, the incredibly long interview with Sway. One other thing to point out is that 2pac's lyrics from the Runnin' Eminem remix are not from the original colaboration, in fact, Pac's "remix" lyrics are from his later years. On the orignial "stop the gunfight," Tupac sounds rather young, and definitely not as mature of a rapper.
