VIBE Magazine will celebrate a decade of success in the music publishing industry this fall with a special 10th Anniversary edition this September. Though the mag's reps were hush-hush to disclose any info on what they have in store for readers, SOHH.com has learned of a plans to premiere ten commemorative covers displaying some of the top artists in urban music history including Jay-Z, P. Diddy and a shared Tupac & Biggie cover.

Leah Watkins, Public Relations manager at VIBE, told SOHH.com that they are keeping all exclusive facts surrounding their celebratory covers under wraps until they hit newsstands in just over a month. "It's not something I will go into detail right now," said Watkins. "You'll have to wait and see." But Despite Ms. Watkins conservative approach to leaking any information, SOHH.com managed to get exclusive details uncovering several of the artists to appear on their special 10th Anniversary issues - including R. Kelly, Jay-Z, Sean "P Diddy" Combs, Dr. Dre, TLC (only T-Boz and Chilli) and a special cover pairing rap legends, The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac. Another good bet is that the late Aaliyah will place as one of the 10 covers as well.

VIBE's A-list selection for their 10th Anniversary boasts a group of artists whose dramatic lives are no strangers to both success and controversy. Each deifying issue is sure to highlight the rise, fall, and often resurrection of their careers (P Diddy, Dr. Dre, R. Kelly, TLC), and the unforeseen tragedies that shook up the music world (Tupac, Biggie, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez, Aaliyah). Though VIBE would not discuss their selection criteria or process for picking the ten, the one common attribute surrounding them all is that each has graced several covers since VIBE's inception 10 years ago.

The most intriguing cover will display two former friends turned enemies -- Big and Pac. VIBE will undoubtedly look back into their vaults of deep coverage on these butting rap icons, highlighting their lives, their music, their legacy, and probably reviewing the facts and myths surrounding their deaths.

VIBE Magazine made its debut back in 1993. The magazine is the brainchild of music producer and arranger Quincy Jones, who teamed up with Time Warner to launch a magazine that would cover the traditionally black music genres - hip-hop, R&B, soul, reggae, and jazz - that Rolling Stone magazine often overlooked. 10 years later, Vibe has become the country's fastest-growing music magazine with a circulation of over 700,000. The highly successful monthly has since been nominated for five National Magazine Awards, and has made additional strides onto the Internet, in fashion, book publishing, and music industries.
